Reflections on 2020 with Tele2 IoT MD Cyril Deschanel

2020 has been an unusual and challenging year, with the global pandemic impacting people around the world both personally and professionally. We here at Tele2 IoT have felt the impact of Covid on our ways of working with our customers and internally; however we were not impacted in term of performance, with a top line growth of nearly 30% in 2020 so far. It hasn’t stopped us from doing what we do best: helping our customers get the most from their IoT solutions and continuing to improve our offering, while also deepening our pool of talent.

We were extremely proud to have launched LTE-M this year. We know that this IoT-specific technology will bring great value to our customers. Roaming in the US in cooperation with AT&T is already available and more regions will be added to our roaming list during 2021.

We were also please to launch an updated version of our connectivity management platform 2CONTROL, further strengthening our long-term collaboration with Cisco. The upgrade and reshaping of 2CONTROL offers two options when it comes to managing your SIMs. 2ACCESS was also relaunched, strengthening customers’ ability to securely transfer data.

2020 also saw us welcome a wide variety of customers, including those working in beverages, e-health, fleet, and electric vehicles. This solidifies our view that IoT is not about which industry you’re in, it’s about the challenges you want to address.

At the Tele2 IoT offices we talk about IoT love – I’ve seen a lot of it in this most challenging of years.  It has been inspirational to watch my entire team as they continue to work hard to ensure the success of our customers and our business.

I would like to personally wish everyone a very happy and safe holiday season, and best wishes for 2021.

With warm regards,

Cyril Deschanel
